Philosophy of Wealth Management

BUILD A WRITTEN PLAN.

We believe you are more likely to attain financial goals if you have a written plan. Among other things, your document should include an income protection plan; strategies that seek to reduce debt, accumulate wealth, save for college; perhaps tax and estate transfer plans; and definitely a plan for retirement income.

It’s a big task, but it’s what we love to do. Our process is orderly and effective.

IT’S NOT ABOUT THE MARKET. IT’S ABOUT YOU.

You may be disappointed if your goal is simply to “beat the market”. Even if you have the time and desire to work toward this goal, there is no guarantee of success. In contrast, our clients agree with us on an average annual return needed (over a 3- to 5- year period) as they work toward their financial goals. We make adjustments that aim to take advantage of strong markets and reduce risk in weak ones.

This long-term view of wealth management may reduce short-term stress from market ups and down.

WE PROACTIVELY SUPPORT AND ADVISE YOU.

Our clients have secure, online access to their accounts via the Advyzon Client Portal. Additionally, we conduct regular account and plan reviews on a schedule and in a method preferred by each client. We keep up with market and economic events/trends and advise our clients whenever their investments may be impacted.

We have committed ourselves to an on-going, consistent monitoring of client accounts.

Mike Dixon founded Dixon & Company Wealth Management, LLC, and over the past 13 years, he expanded the firm from a solo operation into a flourishing company with four financial advisors and a client service manager before retiring in April 2024. He established the firm on the belief that money should be seen as a tool, not a goal, a value that remains central to the company today.

Mike and his wife, Margaret, have two adult sons, Christopher and Adam. They are active members of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, where Mike has served as a deacon, a member of the Calvary Provision board, and an adult Bible class teacher. In retirement, Mike and Margaret enjoy spending time with their family, traveling, and undertaking home improvement projects. Mike also pursues his passion for writing Christian fiction novels, dedicating more time to this hobby in retirement.
